Firelight Learners: Digging into the Past
Start Date: 10/23/2018Start Time: 1:00 PM
End Date: 10/23/2018End Time: 2:00 PM

Event Description:

The Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum is proud to announce its new program for homeschool families: Firelight Learners. This monthly program will introduce children from a range of ages about topics such as history, science, civics, and the arts!

For our October program, students will be introduced to archaeology. Learn about some of the Civil War artifacts that have been uncovered in the nearby area, and see some up close! Be prepared the older clothes that can get dirty, too - participants will have the opportunity to do a dig of their own to see what they can uncover. Children of all ages are welcome to attend this event.

The program is free, but the regular $2.00 museum group rate will apply for all children. Adult chaperones are free. For more information, please contact Program Coordinator Natalie Sweet at or call 423-869-6607.
