New Student Registration is for undergraduate students who will be attending the main campus in Fall 2019. This event will feature an orientation session, time to meet with an academic advisor, financial aid, and an opportunity to finalize your account with the cashier. Registration will be held in the Hamilton Math and Science building with check in beginning at 8:00 am. Signs will be placed on campus to help you reach your destination.

8:30 AM - 12:30 PM Youth Drawing Workshop - Ages 12-14

Using a variety of prompts, references, and materials, these week long workshops encourage exploration and self-expression through the art of drawing. Following introductions to observation and composition, participants will study line, value, shading, and perspective through a range of activities such as entopic graphomania, portraiture, and still life renderings. Mediums include ink, graphite, pastels, colored pencils, and charcoal. These weeklong half-day workshops will be led by visual artist Miwa Batchelor.

Following an introduction to the qualities of acrylic paint and basic elements of composition, we will experiment with color through the art of painting. Using a selection of limited color palettes each day, we will explore how colors interact on canvas and a variety of other surfaces in a series of master, natural, photographic, and still life studies. This week-long workshop will be led by visual artist, Emily Taylor.

Using a principles of Appalachian storytelling, we will develop community-based songs inspired by one another's life experiences and local "micro-expeditions" in and around the Historic Town of Cumberland Gap, TN. Lyrics, music, and movement will be devised using a "create it forward" method, culminating in a group performance by all. We will meet Mon-Fri from 9:00am to 5:00pm with a break for lunch at nearby eateries. You must be 19 or older to register. This week-long workshop will be led by Co-founder and Co-Artistic Director of Cardinal Cross Arts Company, Hilarie Rose Spangler.

We will meet Mon-Fri from 9:00am to 5:00pm with a break for lunch at nearby eateries. You must be 19 years or older to register. This week-long workshop will be led by Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Cardinal Cross Arts Company, Amy Brooks.

10:00 AM - 10:00 PM 2019 Playwright Intensive with Lisa Soland

This weeklong playwright workshop, led by award-winning international playwright Lisa Soland, will explore all the dramatic formats: monologues, 10-minute, one-act and full-length plays. Before the week concludes, Ms. Soland will discuss all aspects of a playwright’s life. If you have never written anything before, attend. You will walk away with original material that works. If you write poetry, memoir, or novels, attend. Ms. Soland will spend an entire day on how to adapt your narrative writings into stage worthy stories of action with provocative dialogue. If you are an experienced playwright, Ms. Soland will cover all aspects to the craft, in a new and refreshing way. Whether it be submission, production, self-production, social networking, because all writers dine together, any question you might have that was not covered, can be asked of her directly, one-on-one.

Classes will be held in the mornings, private writing time in the afternoons, then after dinner, everyone will meet up again to read the work developed that day.

Selected pieces developed over the five days will be given a staged reading at the LMU 10-Minute Play Festival the evening of June 13th. Thursday evening lodging is optional.

All writing levels welcome. Must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

LMU Baseball Youth Camps are designed to teach youth players the fundamentals in the game of baseball.  Daily instruction will include proper throwing and catching technique, infield and outfield play, pitching and hitting.  The cost INCLUDES daily pool access at the LMU Pool (subject to availability), and game play at the conclusion of every day.

All Day Mountain Heritage Literary Festival

The Mountain Heritage Literary Festival is an annual gathering of writers at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. Every year writers gather at the ancient and beloved Cumberland Gap to celebrate writing, music, and Appalachian heritage. Events include workshops, panels, readings, concerts, lectures, open mic, and more. This year the festival will be held June 14th through June 16th.



8:00 AM - 3:00 PM New Student Registration
New Student Registration is for undergraduate students who will be attending the main campus in Fall 2019. This event will feature an orientation session, time to meet with an academic advisor, financial aid, and an opportunity to finalize your account with the cashier. Registration will be held in the Hamilton Math and Science building with check in beginning at 8:00 am. Signs will be placed on campus to help you reach your destination.
