2015 Appalachian Young Writers Workshop
The Appalachian Young Writers Workshop (AYWW) is a collaboration between Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) and Humanities Tennessee (HT). We are excited about the 4th annual AYWW summer writing week!

This year our faculty authors include poet Jesse Graves, novelist Susan Gregg Gilmore, poet and essayist Christopher Martin, and Dove Award-winning songwriter Belinda Smith.

While our target audience is Appalachian youth from the mountains and out-migration areas, we welcome students from any geographic area.  We love to offer others a chance to get to know these rich mountains firsthand, and we welcome the opportunity for creative young people to meet each other and share their passion for writing.

For more information go to: http://www.lmunet.edu/artsinthegap/events/young_writers_workshop.shtml

Acoustic Music Week
Acoustic Music Week is offered by internationally known bluegrass artists Dale Ann Bradley and Steve Gulley in partnership with Lincoln Memorial University as part of the ARTS IN THE GAP summer celebration forging community through the arts. This weeklong workshop provides an opportunity for musicians everywhere to come to the Cumberlands to hone their skills as musicians, singers and songwriters, and make new friends in the very geography where much of America’s music is rooted. Our rich traditions and talented musician have been influencing a host of musical genres for generations, from old time and bluegrass to Americana and rock and roll. As one of last year’s participants said, “It’s good music, good fellowship, good food and a beautiful place to be.”

See the attached flyer for more details.

As one of last year’s participants said, “It’s good music, good fellowship, good food and a beautiful place to be.”

in the Hamilton Math & Science Building, room 100

The New Student Registration is for students who have been accepted to LMU for the Fall 2015 semester (August 2015) and plan on taking courses at LMU's main campus in Harrogate, TN. During this session you will meet with your academic advisor, register for classes and speak with members of our Registrar, Financial Aid, Housing and Cashier offices. If you plan to have a car on campus, please bring your vehicle registration with you to the NSR. Also, keep in mind that ID pictures will also be made during the day. The earlier the date for the NSR the better the course selection. It is strongly recommended that new students (both Freshmen and Transfers) attend this event.
